A Study Trip to Okinawa of First-Year Students of High School

We took a study trip to Okinawa from October 17th to 20th.
~First Day~
We flew for two hours to Okinawa. We felt more and more excited to think about this trip.
We went to Shuri Castle. Its appearance was very majestic and sacred. We could learn about the history of Okinawa.
~Second Day~
We learned about the War of Okinawa. It is said that more than one hundred and twenty thousand people were killed in the War. War is much crueler than anything else. I was very impressed with the words from the lecturer, “I hope you live with all your might.” I think we must not forget this historical memory nor fight a war again.
~Third Day~
We went to Yomitan village to listen to Ms.Higa’s lecture. It was very powerful and moved us. We thought various things about Okinawa during the Second World War.
Next, we went to Okinawa city, which is called “Koza.” We took a walk there in small groups. Koza was a wonderful place. As there were many posters of the Hiroshima Carp, we thought Koza was very similar to Hiroshima.
On the last day, we went to the Churaumi Aquarium. We saw many kind of fish. The whale shark was very big and I was over whelmed. After going around the aquarium, we went to the sea near it. It felt good to enter the sea. The sea in Okinawa was very beautiful.
~Fourth Day~
First, we went to Okinawa Prefectural Museum. There were human bones of Minatogawa.
Next, we went to Kokusai Street. There were many tourists and foreigners. We had lunch and went shopping. It was a lot of fun. We bought many souvenirs such as Chinsuko, Beniimo Tart, and so on.
In these four days, I came to like my class more than before we went to Okinawa. I think the relation of our class deepened. We could learn various things about war and peace. It was a wonderful experience.
