The National Center Test for University Admissions used by Japanese universities is a standardized entrance examination administered by the National Center for University Entrance ō. It is held for two days, on the first Saturday and Sunday after January 13th. This test replaced the previous Common first-stage exam (kyōtsū ichiji). The test is a multiple choice test, and the students fill in the correct answers for all the subjects on the mark sheet answer sheet. The test is qualified in accordance with the guidelines for teaching high school which is decided for each subject. Although the tests are made so the average score for each subjects will be about 60%, the average score may be higher or lower more than expected.
