Our Message for Peace

Nice to meet you.

We are first-year students of class ‘a’ in Hiroshima Notre-Dame Seishin Junior High School. Last year, marking the 70th anniversary since the atomic bomb was dropped, we had thought very hard about what we could do for world peace. And we’ve decided to make a large paper crane to show our wish for peace.

We hope that we can convey our wish and also we want people around the world to think about peace. We, the youth who succeed next generation, should think more and share the importance of peace with many people

We are going to think and act so that people in the world can live hand in hand, transcending borders.

「SUNNY AFTER RAINY」

We held a welcome meeting for the junior high school on April 28th.

Originally, we were planning to go to Miyajima, but as it was rainy, we held the meeting in our school gym.

To welcome first-year students and strengthen our bond, we enjoyed playing 4 games.

During lunch time, we had lunch together in groups which were composed of junior high school third grade, second grade, and first grade students.

We got familiar with each other because we had games and exchanged snacks together.

This was an unforgettable day.

Reflecting on this time together will help with our next cross‐grade activity.

「THANK YOU EVERYONE」

We, the Student Council, made preparations for the welcome meeting.

In the committee we talked about how to spend time, what games to do, and so on.

Particularly, the third graders in the committee worked hard, at various scenes including the game explanation.

In addition, 68 group leaders attended the group leader meeting and helped to gather members on the day.

The Class Committee, Discipline Committee, and Beautification Committee cooperated, too.

Teachers also helped us and joined in the games, too.

Thank you everyone!!!

Geography Class

In the geography class, the 2nd year high school students taught the class as replacement for our teacher while he was away on school business.

We taught one another about agriculture.

By explaining to other people, we could understand the unit very well.

Zazen

Zazen

On Thursday May Twelfth

After the Zazen teacher from Doshin temple explained to us how to do Zazen, we practiced Zazen.

At first we had difficulty crossing our legs, but finally all of us managed to cross our legs.

Everyone concentrated just on sitting.

It was a room enveloped in silence.

A Visitor from Singapore

On June 2nd, we had the student council assembly.

The secretariat reported the final accounts report and we thought about the draft budget for 2016.

After finishing this, we welcomed a visitor who was a student of the National University of Singapore. She gave a presentation about Singapore’s history, the various tourist spots and so on.

After school, some students talked with her. We learned a lot about Singapore and her college life. She gave us some advice about our future career.
