Students from Bakmun High School in Korea visited us at the end of December. We welcomed them.
First, the principal of each school greeted everyone. After that, the host sisters of Seishin sang a Christmas song and danced to K-pop music. Their performance was wonderful! The students from Bakmun enjoyed the performance.

We are the Broadcast Club. In our club, we do club activities every Monday. Our main activities are practicing making announcements and practicing reading out loud. We polish our respective skills for contests held twice a year. In addition, we have come to make TV and radio programs in recent years, and our TV documentary program won a prize in June and as a result, advanced to the national contest.

Our club consists of twenty three members this year. The main opportunities for us to play the koto in public are at our School Festival in May, the Prefectural tournament in November and at the Music Festival in February, and we practice for them. As there is no conductor when playing of koto, we have to concentrate and unite our hearts together. It is one of the pleasures of koto. We are practicing for the Prefectural tournament very hard now. Please come and listen to our koto performance on the Music Festival stage in February.

The members of the School Orchestra play four instruments; the Violin, Viola, Cello and Contrabass. The club is active two days a week, (but when we have a performance, we practice three days a week and every morning before the actual performance). Most of the members have no experience when they join the club, but the next year they will have improved their skills and are able to play some songs. We are instructed by instructors who come from outside our school and practice various songs; not only classical music but also J-pop, for the performances at the school festival, music concert and music competitions.
